Timothy P. Bakelaar, DMD
Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Tim hails from Brandon, Mississippi. He graduated from Millsaps College in Jackson, MS, and from the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry in 2001. He completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program at the University of Mississippi in 2002, and then completed a 2 year pediatric dental residency program at the University of Tennessee in 2004. While at UT, Dr. Tim treated children in the Mid South area at Crittenden Regional Hospital, LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Dr. Tim has been with Bartlett Pediatric Dentistry since 2004.
Dr.Tim was named one of the “TopDentists” in Memphis Magazine in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. This is an honor voted on by dentists in the Memphis metro area recognizing excellence in dentistry. He is board certified in pediatric dentistry, serving as a Diplomat of The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Tim is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Tennessee Dental Association, and the Memphis Dental Society.
As a pediatric dentist, Dr. Tim’s special interest is taking care of the comprehensive dental needs of our younger patients. He is licensed to provide in-office sedation, and he has hospital privileges at LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center and LeBonheur East Surgery Center.
Dr. Tim has a young daughter, Abby. Tim enjoys sports and fly fishing.
